Senior Software Engineering Manager | Watchtower, Fishkill, New York

2016–Present

  • Manage 11-member remote and hybrid engineering team using Agile to deliver enterprise financial utilized by 30,000 users across 85 branch offices worldwide for this global nonprofit with over 9 million members. Coordinate multiple simultaneous projects with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and users.
  • Gather requirements, prioritize work, conduct performance reviews, onboard new members, cross-train team.
  • Assume role of team Scrum Master as required, ensure standards are followed for UX, Gherkin, and documentation.
  • Follow Agile Scrum process: 2-week sprints, daily stand-ups, Kanban, planning, retrospective, and review meetings.
  • Consistently entrusted with increasing responsibilities and promoted twice.
  • Funds Transfer Software:
    • Directed a 1-year dev project and new workflow to move & track millions of dollars worldwide for 85 branches.
    • Streamlined accounting work from 5 processes down to 1; resulting in 50% reduction in workload & personnel.
  • Department Budgets Project:
    • Led a 1-year global project for 85 branches (4,000 users) which replaced a workflow of Excel and email with an integrated system; improving communication and reporting for 200+ departments worldwide.
    • Completed on schedule for new fiscal year; company-wide time/cost savings, received highly positive feedback.
  • Health Care Claims Software:
    • Organized 2-year multi-department project to automate claim processing & payments for 10,000 employees.
    • Doubled efficiency from 2,000 to 4,000 claims/week, reduced processing errors, staff, and improved accuracy.

    • Technical lead of 2-year installation of major Electronic Medical Records system; migrated over a million records for eight-practitioner private clinical practice with over 10,000 patients.
